Biohazard

BIOHAZARD never was “just” a good live band. The four New York based musicians always were an extremely great live band. Millions of fans who saw, heard and celebrated with the highly influential band at about 3.000 concerts in ca 60 countries worldwide on club, hall and festival stages can prove it. Evan, Billy, Danny and Bobby - the four founding members - haven’t played their strong mixture of the Hardcore, Punk and Thrash Metal with socially critical comments and the authenticity of Hip Hop which bestowed them international attention live since 1995. But at the beginning of the year, the original members found back together to doe Europe-wide shows for their 20th anniversary in autumn 2008.

Bass player and singer Evan Seinfeld, guitarist and singer Billy Grazladei, drummer Danny Schuler and guitarist Bobby Hambel parted company after Hambel left the band after the long tour trip for their third album ‘State of the World Address’. Just like its predecessor, the milestone ‘Urban Discipline’ (1992), ‘State of the World Address’ sold over 1,000,000 copies worldwide and crowned the way of the band from the local Brooklyn act to international success. In the following decade BIOHAZARD released another five acclaimed albums before they parted and pursued other bands and activities - for instance the producing and recording of other artists. Seinfeld was an actor and took photographs as well. Seinfeld admits that none of these other activities would have been possible without the success of BIOHAZARD and is looking forward going back to the roots.

“BIOHAZARD was the one most important chapter in our lives. Our music brought us together and helped us to grow out of the streets of Brooklyn. Our journey was incredible and for me it’s about my brothers Billy, Bobby and Danny and of course the fans whose undying support kept the hopes for a reunion of the original band alive. I’m proud to announce that the four of us have decided to celebrate our special kind of Hardcore – better known as the BIOHAZARD live show - and to bring it back to selected stages around the globe. Here comes the pain, and see you in the pit, motherf*****s!” Hambel adds: “We owe it to ourselves and everyone who wants to see the original band reunited. We’ve lost many good friends and musicians during the past years, but we’re still here and it was time to get rid of all these misunderstandings.

Beginning of January 2008, the band met to rehears for the first time after 12 years. “To be in the same room with the old friends totally rocked.” says Grazladei “We created something very unique back then and it totally blew me away that we’re all hanging around together again and to breathe new life into the old vibe. A little as if time had stopped and we’re all 19 again.” “I’m very pleased we rediscovered our friendship.” adds Schuler. “Life’s too short and all the fights rumours and all the teasing aren’t important. It’s important the four of us are friends again and want to return to the stage together. I can’t wait.” And after the first stages, BIOHAZARD stormed in July in their original line-up stood at the With Full Force and Waldrock festivals and in Essen - where the mosh pits were bursting - they visit Magdeburg on 29th November.
