Philipshalle, Düsseldorf, Germany
24th November 2008
Slipknot, Machine Head, Children of Bodom

With their unique mixture of Metal, nine masked musicians and a fantastic show, SLIPKNOT is an attraction in the music world. Since 1995, the group from the US state Iowa conquers the charts and critic’s hearts in the most brutal way. After three studio albums, six Grammy nominations and various sold-out world tours, SLIPKNOT currently cause a stir with their new album ‘All Hope Is Gone’. Now, the wild Metal troop confirms five spectacular Germany concerts. Together with MACHINE HEAD and CHILDREN OF BODOM, they’ll perform in Berlin (15th Nov.), Düsseldorf (24th Nov.), Offenbach (25th Nov.), Stuttgart (26th Nov) und Munich (29th Nov.).

Des Moines, capital of the bleak US state Iowa is the last place you would assume a revolution of the Heavy Metal, but exactly there 9 musical queer fellows met to push the envelope. Every one of them created an alter ego and a corresponding individual horror mask. The fitting sound with a mixture of Thrash and Death Metal as well as Hardcore and darkest textual fantasies sounds more evil than everything before. In 1999 SLIPKNOT release their self-titled debut album which became a worldwide success. Ever since, SLIPKNOT received dozens of platinum discs with albums like ‘Iowa’ (2001). They’ve been nominated for the Grammy six times, before they eventually won it in 2006. In the Us, SLIPKNOT sold 300,000 copies of their last release Vol.3 (The Subliminal Verses) in the first week. Their concerts become happenings where up to 10.000 disguised fans burn themselves out.

Also musically SLIPKNOT always went outside the envelopes. Most recent prove is their newest album ‘All Hope Is Gone’. Here they show themselves more experimental and better than ever - also thanks to producer Dave Fortman (Evanescence) and mixer Colin Richardson Machine Head). How much the fans anticipate Slipknot 2008 is proved by the fact that during the online revelation of the new band masks 8,000,000 people visited their website in 24 hours. After a longer break in which Corey Taylor caused a stir with his Hard Rock project STONE SOUR, the band’s now spoiling for new live concerts and who’s already experienced Sid Wilson (DJ), Joey Jordison (Drums), Paul Gray (Bass), Chris Fehn (Percussion), James Root (Guitar), Craig Jones (Samples), Shawn „Clown“ Crahan (Percussion), Mick Thomson (Lead guitar) and Corey Taylor (Vocals) live knows, how commonly chaotic and great this band is on stage.
