Oomph!, All Ends

With both their current single ‘Labyrinth’ and their new album ‘Monster’ placed at number 1 in the German Alternative Chart it’s not surprising that everyone still has the name Oomph on their lips nearly twenty years after they were first formed. Founded in 1989, Oomph have happily blended their many musical styles, evolved in new and diverse ways to encompass a grinding heavy rock with elements of their original electronic sound to capture something totally unique to them. Never tired or stale, they have sought perfection in every facet of their writing, production and staging. No other band to my knowledge has such a tenacious hold on every aspect of their format as they do, thus ensuring that their music reaches their fans in exactly the way they, as artists, intend it.

Openly cited as one of Rammstein’s major influences, they are touring extensively throughout Germany this winter with 23 dates in most major cities being eager to reach as many fans as possible. This was evidenced earlier in the year when the band held a competition to design the cover art for ‘Monster’ amongst it’s fans. The three from Lower Saxony promise a show you won’t forget easily and if history is anything to go by they’ll deliver.

With lyrics as intense and invasively addictive as anything they have previously offered this album has proved their motto of ‘Don’t walk in other’s footsteps or you leave no mark ‘ to be true as they have certainly lived up to their unique and diverse reputation making the tour promoting it promising should not be misses.
