Columbia Club, Berlin, Germany
6th December 2008
Coppelius, Volkstrott, Feuerschwanz

With COPPELIUS the bon ton returns to the concert halls. The five elegant gentlemen appear in frolic-coats. Initially emerged in the 19th century, a constant electric shock on 18th June 1815, had the classic musicians become very loud. With mysterious sonic instruments (Clarinets, Cello, Double-Bass, Drums) in their hands, they and their butler spread blissful hysteria. A fife-fold musical Kinski sings out the heritage of German romantics. Rudely wild and rudely. Where they once were guests people are awaiting their return every day.

Already a fixed constant in Berlin’s Folk Goth & Metal scene, VOLKSTROTT have a new silver dime end of November. “In the face of Barbary”, they will gladly celebrate and present. Other than COPPELIUS and FEUERSCHWANZ, this band shows that a synthesis of bagpipes, Violin and hard rock music works even without medieval. Driving riffs, straight rhythm work. Beautiful to blighter melodies create music between seducing beauty and dark harshness.

Met & Miezen is the golden recipe of FEUERSCHWANZ. FEUERSCHWANZ, that is comedic music theatre. As rubber baron troop, they’re travelling through the lands and spread their motto “Met & Miezen”. Their danceable medieval/folk sound is the starting point for extensive humorous journeys through the medieval times. The spark springs over here swiftly and swiftly the concert hall becomes a market or tournament site. Some out of the populace see themselves wielding the spear or dancing in the crowd as lovely maiden, but you have to get used to the Turkish chant first, I admit.
