MARC ALMOND

MARC ALMOND, singer and songwriter from Great Britain, started his varied career in the early 1980’s. Together with David Ball, he formed the pop duo SOFT CELL whose hit ‘Tainted Love’ appealed to a large audience and has been rated as a milestone of pop history up to now. In 1984 MARC ALMOND decided to start a solo career. Over the years and besides his fantastic songwriting, many collaborations with other artists (for example Gene Pitney, Nico, Nick Cave, Siouxsie Sioux, the German band Rosenstolz and a stage performance with The Pussycat Dolls) showed MARC ALMOND’s artistic range and established him as a passionate and varied musician of international repute.

In 2002 and 2003, the fan base was pleased by the SOFT CELL-stage reunion of MARC ALMOND and David Ball followed by a common tour that turned out as a great success. In 2007, three years after his bad motorbike-accident and on the way to recovery, he interpreted some of his favourite songs on the glamorous album ‘Stardom Road’ that convinced all the critics and fans again. Within the “Stardom Road Continued Tour 2009”, MARC ALMOND is going to perform the songs of ‘Stardom Road’ at the Batschkapp in Frankfurt am Main on 8th March 2009. It’s safe to assume that an unforgettable evening is waiting for you...
