DIRK DARMSTÄDTER

Born 1965 in Hamburg and grown up in the USA, firstly the singer and songwriter DIRK DARMSTÄDTER was crazy about baseball. By returning to Germany, he had to quit his baseball career and decided to concentrate on playing music. Finally, he became the lead singer of the pop band JEREMY DAYS in 1986, whose debut album `Brand New Toy´ (including the famous hits `Are you inventive?´ and `Brand New Toy´) caused quite a stir in Germany and the UK.

Since the JEREMY DAYS´ breakup in 1995, DARMSTÄDTER has been a solo artist who received unanimous praise in the music press after releasing his acoustic pop long-players such as `Me and Cassity´, `Me and Cassity: Hope, With a Pain Chaser´ and `This Road doesn’t lead to my House anymore´ (collaboration with Bernd Begemann). Besides being in the spotlight on stage, he founded his own record label Tapete Records which is also responsible for the release of DARMSTÄDTER´s new album `Life is no Movie´ on 06th March 2009. Due to the upcoming long-player, he will be on tour again in March and April.

On 29th March 2009, DIRK DARMSTÄDTER is going to introduce his new songs to his Frankfurt audience at “Das Bett”, a snug club which is located in the district Sachsenhausen. Therefore, you can look forward to a special evening that will be accompanied by the hand-made music of a great artist.
