Subway to Sally + Guests

Two eventful years lie behind SUBWAY TO SALLY in which they’ve gained massive success. With album No.9 ‘Bastard’ they’ve reached one of the highest charts placements in the band’s history (#7). Shortly after that, they won Stefan Raab’s mega event “Bundesvision Song Contest”. Following tours were sold-out, festivals numerous, and the just recently released live CD/DVD ‘Schlachthof’ shows the band on the momentary peak of their craft, peaking in the charts on #23. Hence, the current DVD follows in the footsteps of the gold certified predecessor ‘Nackt’ from 2008.

But instead of resting on their well-deserved laurels, the ever restless band already has a new collection of songs up their sleeves. With their 10th album ‘Kreuzfeuer’ the band not only celebrates a round anniversary, their square musical strike comes from every corner: More powerful, darker, and more emotional. ‘Kreuzfeuer’ easily connects all strengths of the last three albums: The gloomy-bitter mood of ‘Engelskrieger’, the traditional melodies of ‘Nord Nord Ost’, and the pure energy of ‘Bastard’. Once more Bodenski’s lyrics shine, permeated with beautiful, palpable metaphoric, carried by the distinct, powerful yet still emphatic vocals of Eric Fish.

With ‘Komm in meinen Schlaf’ and ‘Angelus’, seamlessly linking to crowd-pleasers like ‘Feuerkind’ or ‘Seemannslied’, the band already created to absolute spine-chillers for the upcoming shows, while songs like ‘Aufstieg’ and ‘Judaskuss’ go straight-forward and get the crowd into action. With ‘Besser du rennst’, there’s also the first potential hit single of the album winding up for you, that’s soon to be talked of with its catchy yet still edgy and rough appeal.. One thing’s for sure and no fan’s to be disappointed with ‘Kreuzfeuer’ and SUBWAY TO SALLY gets their well-deserved success.
