Palladium, Cologne, Germany
19th December 2009
New Model Army, Laibach, Juno Reactor

Until the beginning of the 90s there’ve been lots of bands causing quite a stir in the independent music scene. Already back then England’s NEW MODEL RMY was at the front line of them. Hits like ‘51st State’, ‘Stupid Question’, ‘Vagabonds’, or ‘Purity’ are still very fresh in the minds of those who’ve witnessed that time. While other bands gather in the spotlights of the media and partly do things that’d put others to shame, reports about NEW MODEL ARMY are rare. Like LEVELLERS also NEW MODEL ARMY are using a term dating back to the times of English civil war for their band name.

Now it’s been 30 years since the band came into being, and within the course of their long career they’ve gone through lots of musical and personnel changes. Apart from being the year of their 30th anniversary, 2009 also saw the release of the band’s eleventh studio album ‘Today is a Good Day’, which they’re currently promoting extensively on tour, and on 19th December they’ll be returning to Cologne to continue what has become a tradition by now: The annual Christmas show, which again will draw fans from all parts of the area to Cologne to be part of this very special experience. Be a part of it as well and get a ticket swiftly.
