Palladium, Cologne, Germany
29th January 2010
Air, George Pringle

The French duo AIR emerged from the historically relevant city of Versailles in 1995 to present the world their version of what is often referred to as Electronica. With it they’re creating warmth that is often missing in other synthetic music through their increased use of analogue and vintage gear. Their very first album ‘Moon Safari’ has become a classic in the Chillout genre and was their breakthrough at the same time. Ever since, the duo has expanded its capabilities enormously, learned new ways of creating even more thick soundscapes for the listeners to get lost in. But their newer albums also show an increased shift of mood towards more dark shades and experimental structures without getting too mind-focused though.

Having a new album in stores since October with ‘Love 2’, the fans are waiting impatiently to see them finally presenting the new material live, and astonish them once again with the improvisational talent they always showed while playing with their synths on stage. Well, they won’t have to wait long anymore, as AIR will start their European “Love 2 Tour” in January 2010 and amongst others will be guests in the city that harbours a well-known cathedral: Cologne! The chosen venue is the Palladium which AIR is going to disconnect from the real world for some time and take you on a dreamy trip.
