Album Review

Germany's modern calling has begun to ring and the melodic death metal styling of DARK AGE has arisen with its sixth LP to date, ‘Acedia’. This 11-track combination of hard aggression mixed together with melodic temptation persists in bringing forth the force field that is metal music. For instance opener ‘Kingdom Nevercome’ instantly showcases the melodic side effects with its easy-going clean vocals with rough music playing in the back drop whereas ‘Devote yourself to nothing’ takes the music to a heavier alternative, progressing its sound waves a lot more clearly allowing the guitar's roaring solos and drumming tactics to overwhelm one another in a clashing battle until the song comes to a conclusion.

Concluding that the guitar's style and sound is a lot more forceful than any other portions of the music. As far as the remainder of the album persists, it plays out just as the beginning did, having its melodic side effects with hard and heavy attitude surrounding it. DARK AGE's ‘Acedia’ takes on a whole new beginning for this band having their past creations be left there but never forgotten.
