Album Review
STRANGE ATTRACTOR is Richard van Kruysdijk (Sonar Lodge, Phallus Dei) and Niels van Hoorn (The Legendary Pink Dots) who came together in 2004 and in 2006 they released their debut CD / 2LP ‘Everything Is Closer’. They quickly made a name for themselves. The collaboration of Niels van Hoorn and Richard van Kruysdijk naturally evolved into a “real band” and STRANGE ATTRACTOR became their main focus amongst their many different projects. In the end of 2008, they released their second album ‘Mettle’.
These four songs on ‘Youth’ have an air of creativity that together with interesting music creates something special, but it’s hard for me to put words on my feelings regarding it. I like the two songs best where Marie-Claudine is singing; they are easier to get a grip on but the other two just slip through my fingers like water. ‘Youth’ is a SOFT CELL cover that I really like; the vocals are beautiful and strong.
