First ‘ZION’ (2000), then ‘NOIZ’ (2004) and now ‘IZ ON’! Is it really five years since the band’s released with ‘Vielleicht’ the first single from their multi-platinum certified album ‘NOIZ’? Indeed the band from Mannheim have taken their time but now the first taste of what’s to come with ‘IZ ON’ was released on 26th June with the eponymous single. The upcoming third album righteously rouses great expectations and makes a demanding start ‘IZ ON’ means something like ‘Here we go! Break with your idleness’. The single comes with 4 tracks; a video edit, instrumental, and the current video. With ‘IZ ON’, the band manages once again to bring their various musical talents to the point; a caressing cello motif, rocking guitar riffs, 4 voices and speech vocals in English and German, the pervading beats and precise cuts of the DJ create the authentic pop sound, the band is known for.Lyrically, they’re as eloquent as always but also unpleasant. They’re addressing nuisances, call for actions and emphasize their trust in god. With the video clip, the band breaks new territory. Not the band appears in the video but 14 newcomers acting as pendants to the band members. They’re selected in a big casting initiated by the band.
