Review Flash

VOGON POETRY from Gothenburg will release their debut album in the end of April. The music genre of the band is Synth Pop influenced mainly from with 80's plus some alternative elements. Their main influences are DEPECHE MODE, YAZOO, ERASURE, ULTRAVOX and ELEGANT MACHINERY. The album contains fifteen tracks most of them catchy and easy listening. My favourite tracks of the album are the catchy 'Time Machine', the down-tempo emotional 'Land Of Forever' (some of you might know this one from the compilation 'Swedish Electro Vol 2'),the alternative influenced 'Dream Dream Dream' and the old-school electro 'Destiny'.

Roger's voice is one of the strong points of the band, influenced by Andy Bell and Alison Moyet is loud and clear and helps the listener to understand the lyrics of each track. In my opinion the mainly negative point of the album is the sound, it's weak and not so professional something which I can understand because it's the debut of the band and also they don't have a record label behind them for support.

Conclusion: A nice easy listening debut album which shows that the guys have the potential to create even better music in the future.
