DUSTBOLT is a very aggressive young thrash metal band from Finning, Germany that was formed in 2006. The band started as a school band covering punk songs (neither Facebook nor Wikipedia knows the former name of the band). Soon DUSTBOLT played as support for bands like SEPULTURA and NAPALM DEATH, tiresome to mention that gigs like that pushed them a good way forward. In 2009 they recorded their first Demo which they released in 2010. More gigs with bands like OBITUARY and HYPOCRISY followed (not to forget a tour with SIX FEET UNDER). After winning the Metal Battle at Wacken in 2011 the guys scored a record deal with Napalm Records. DUST BOLT recorded and released their debut ‘Violent Demolition’ in 2012. Now they release the follow up ‘Awake the Riot’. It`s 00:37 as I sit here and listen to Lenny B. barking and shouting his way through the songs and I have to say if I would listen to DUSTBOLT playing GTA I would go on a killer spree… Often the task of reviewing a modern thrash metal band consists of listening to awful vocalists butchering their band Mates musical attempts or the other way around. DUSTBOLT is a welcome exception. I kind of like most of the vocals I appreciate the overall attitude and aggression and sometimes I just love me some thrash fucking metal.
Conclusion: If I listen hard enough I detect influences of PANTERA, METALLICA and even some KREATOR the mixture of this different sounds creates something I miss with many bands: authentic, true and heartfelt music…
