Album Review

When September rolls around you should be careful as that will be the time of the year you will find out if you'll be the LAST ONE DYING. Or shall I say ‘The Hour of Lead’, the debut efforts from heavy metallers, which is combining raw intense emotion driven directly with fast instrumental craftsmanship that rounds off to sounding a lot like ARCH ENEMY meets AS I LAY DYING. Vocally speaking, it relates to ARCH ENEMY's standards whereas instrumentally speaking it progresses that fast racing energy that AS I LAY DYING tends to dish out from time to time.

For example the title track goes down the lines of sounding a lot like AS I LAY DYING’s ‘Through Struggle’ having that raw but fast rate of energy that doesn’t seem to stop but continues to build up until it’s over flowing. While ‘Annabel Lee’ sounds like ARCH ENEMY's ‘My Apocalypse’ at first hand and then slowly fades into sounding like AS I LAY DYING's standards both musically and vocally. But besides that, LAST ONE DYING without a doubt establishes its own unique style and tone of music that maintains to present itself at its own pace. Overall, LAST ONE DYING proves to become the next generation of heavy metal and have indeed made their marking within the world of music causing nothing but total chaos from now until ‘The Hour of Lead’.
