Rupesh Cartel - Anchor Baby

I don’t normally listen too much to this kind of electro music but this really sounds good and interesting. The first song on the record, ‘The World Begins’, kind of swept me off my feet so to speak - it was hard to sit still while listening to it. I think to myself that this might be a very good dance record that I might in fact manage to make my friends listen to on the next party. ;) But do the songs have something more? I always listen to the lyrics when I listen to music, I just can’t help it, and face it too many danceable songs are pretty soulless and tiresome when it comes to stuff like lyrics. I am glad to hear that RUPESH CARTEL is not one of those!

‘Oh No Oh No’ is a good danceable song, I like how it begins and opens up, talk about catchy chorus! ‘Damn Sure’ is cool; it has a great melody and kind of reminds me of summer. ‘Where You Put Me’ is a slow song with beautiful lyric - “I am staying where you put me, no matter where my heart may go. I am staying where you put me, carrying my heart like a stone”. One of the songs I like best on this record is ‘Kick Me into Action’; it is a really good melody and I like how it flows.

‘Anchor Baby’ has a good mix of songs with a fresh sound, cool melodies and good lyrics. I like Viktor Ginner’s voice, he sings really well. This is a record that works great at any party this summer. I look forward to hear some of the songs on the parties this spring/summer!
