Classic meets Pop! That’s the motto of the Night of the Proms. The 75 head grasping classic orchestra Il Novecento plays the classics and accompanies, together with the Electric Band, the Pop stars. And those stars are extraordinary also for this year’s edition: Level 42 (Mark King), Morten Harket, Amy Macdonald, The Baseballs, Hiromi and once more John Miles. Orchestra, band and stars together with an extraordinary light show deliver an extraordinary concert evening.
The Night of the Proms are touring now in their twentieth year. What started 1994 with a show in Dortmund, now fills big arenas 17 times in the weeks from end of November till Christmas 2013. Big part of the success of the NOTP lays on the side of the artists, always being well mixed. This year, you’ll get the orchestral Pop of A-HA’s Morten Harket, the Folk-Pop gems od Amy Macdonald and the Rock’n’Roll interpretations in retro style by THE BASEBALLS.The program is completed by Mark King, not only being charismatic front man of LEVEL 42, but also talented bassist.
