There it is back again the fierce monster called ESA with yet another assault on your auditory channels, and yet again nothing will be as you'd expect, which brings me right to 'Let The Sinful Sparrow Sing'. It exhibits a keen sense for the beauty of melody and harmony of the piano echoing through endless rooms. Offering quite the contrary, 'I Know Your Wounds' is the tormenting bastard that steals away your goodnight's sleep, ultimately leaving you as a wreckage. The torment continues with undiminished force Beat after beat is fired at you to nail you to the wall with no chance of escaping. ESA never has been the type of project to deliver a standard dose of noise-laden beat attacks- That's what always set the project apart from its peers and I pray that'll never change. The time when the rage and hate know no bounds is when you realize there's indeed more to it than a mere delivery of static noise.
It needs careful examination and listening to peel of the layers revealing the percussion and maimed vocals of 'The Shape Of Hate To Come', while on 'Deceit' the violence subsides, it seems to be losing grip, but through the cracks it leaves no sun, but the abyss is staring you right in the face. 'No-one Will Ever Touch You' brings a complex array of rhythmic twists to the table that leave a whole lot to be digested before you're able to comprehend exactly what just hit you. A sinister conjuration is being held on 'While You Sleep I Converse With The Dark Birds', the kind that utilizes ritual percussion, chants and constant drones to become successful. Closing up with 'Confudere', everything is on the verge of breaking apart, putting the listener right in the middle of all the walls closing in, slowly crumbling to dust and offering a look behind the curtain that if they take the chance probably destroys your soul. So, do you dare?
