The Norwegian heavy metal band called CHROME DIVISION was formed in 2004 by DIMMU BORGIR`s Stian Tomt Thoresen. Originally he wanted to play together with THE KOVENANT`s Stian Arnesen but due to lack of time Arnesen notched. Thoresen searched and found fitting band members and soon got signed by Nuclear Blast. The band`s critically acclaimed debut ‘Doomsday Rock`n`Roll’ came out in 2006. Two years later CHROME DIVISION released the follow up ‘Booze, Broads and Beelzebub’. The band separated with singer Eddie Gus due to lack of dedication in 2009, he was replaced by Athera of the band SUSPERIA. Athera now was called Shady Blue; his first album with the band was named ‘3rd Round Knockout’.
On January the 17th 2014 the new album ‘Infernal Rock Eternal’ came out. So I am sitting here listening to this record over and over again and I have to say I love my job! This record reminds me of MOTÖRHEAD every few songs but in comparison with Lemmy`s outfit CHROME DIVISION is way more melodic and more variable. Shady Blue`s voice is very rough but it transports emotion and melody nicely, the rhythm section of the band is tight as it gets and the guitar work is fitting and very noticeable. All in all a very nice album with some tracks that really get stuck in your ear for weeks like ‘The Absinthe Voyage’ or ‘Reaper on the Hunt’. If you love rock and you like it rough and fast than just go to your local record dealer and order this piece of ‘Infernal Rock Eternal’.
