Album Review

BLIND GUARDIAN are one of the German top metal bands, starting in the 80s under the name LUCIFER’S HERITAGE, playing melodic speed metal. Later when changing their name into BLIND GUARDIAN, they changed their sound into a more symphonic way and became one of the biggest German metal bands in the 90s. Now in 2015 they release their 10th full length album ‘Beyond The Red Mirror’. Getting too progressive and technical for many of their old fans in the new millennium, they returned 2010 to their old strength with the album ‘At the Edge of Time’, so there are huge expectations for their new long-player. The ten songs are featuring all GUARDIAN trademarks, speed metal riffs, symphonic melodies and Hansi’s unique vocals. Beginning with ‘The ninth wave’ and ending with ‘Grand parade’, the guys from Krefeld have two nearly 10 minutes long epics. All songs are very well composed. The only thing I am missing is a real hit, on this good album. But I think no BLIND GUARDIAN fan should miss this album!
