Single Review
Behind EISBLUME (Ice Flower) is Ria. Universal Music is releasing her single ‘Für Immer‘ (Forever). It’s a nostalgic and very slightly dark song and smoothly melodic too. It’s very pleasant to the ears - be it the angelic vocal or the innocent elegance in the arrangements. With the original version as a matter of interest comes the little bit rockier part towards its end and together with ‘Akustik Version‘ comes the added emotive intensity. Both these aspects are still not abrasive but convey a fragile beauty and grace. The piano parts in both songs are yet another element to be enjoyed. As a single it’s good as an introduction to her work, however, not the avant-garde kind that she mentions in her credentials, and whilst it has a mainstream/Pop appeal the New Wave sound of the first version might attract beyond that. Considering that there is only one song with a version that doesn’t differ far too much, it might be a bit of an extravagance in difficult times for many listeners and in that case it’s just better to wait and see what her new album might bring.
