The new creation of German electronic act HEAD-LESS, entitled ‘Imperfect: [mensch]’, in general produces a fairly good impression. The album starts with an intro that turns to be a well-balanced combination of vigorous rigid beats with calm melodic infusions, supported by the speech both in German and English. However the next track may come as a surprise at first: judging by the opening it was obvious to expect something peaceful and tuneful yet ‘Punish Your Head’ is a powerful composition just for dance-floors. Actually the following songs are of the same kind and the only difference is created by simple yet suitable arrangements and the rhythm, which still remains strong and cheerful till the instrumental piece entitled ‘Dialogue’. This track may be regarded as a short relief for one’s ears thanks to its beautiful tranquil melody. Another composition, that immediately pleases with its unobtrusive melody and heartfelt, is the cover version of ‘Als ich fortging’ of German band KARUSSEL. ‘Down Memory Lane’ is rather intricate as well however somewhat boring maybe because of its length or simplicity. All in all, the album is complicated enough and will definitely interest not only frequenters of night clubs but those who just want to listen to something profound and impressive.
