‘Insidious’ is the fifth release of the melodic death metal band NIGHTRAGE. According to their route to create a certain playfulness beside all these harsh and aggressive parts death metal stands for, NIGHTRAGE shows with the present release that they’re capable to advance their skills and strengths from recent releases. References and idols like ARCH ENEMY, DARK TRANQUILITY, AT THE GATES and IN FLAMES give an idea of what the audience should be prepared for to face.
A lot of guests like EVERGREY’s Tom S. Englund, Apollo Papathanasio (FIREWIND) and Thomas Lindberg (AT THE GATES, ex-NIGHTRAGE) do the honour to support those guys on their way. But this is still not name listing just for better promotion… all those guests and their work were appreciated by fitting in the right place on the right track! Clever arrangements, technically brilliant guitar riffs and a songwriting that is remarkable are leading to the conclusion that NIGHTRAGE´s ‘Insidious’ definitely is not reinventing the wheel, but ties up to their precedent development und success of its predecessors while other bands of this genre surrender…!
Even if, for my own part, the release is somehow is lacking of additional clean vocals parts (even though there ARE such parts by Apollo Papathanasio), I have to admit that ‘Insidious’ is one of the most impressive melodic death metal releases nowadays! I’m quite sure that this was not the last stroke of genius the guys of NIGHTRAGE will present us - if you’re into metal, you definitely got to listen to that stuff!
