EPICA writes Hit Parade History

Dutch metal band EPICA writes hit parade history! EPICA is the first band ever to manage to get into the Dutch Album Top 100 Chart with a book. This has never occurred before. The book ‘The Road To Paradiso’ enters at # 89 of the album charts, as controlled by Gfk Mega Charts.

The 'photo sound book' is a unique concept. It documents the history of EPICA supported by illustrations and sounds, from the first demos under the name Sahara Dust to fame in Middle- and South-America. From the small Limburg town of Reuver, EPICA has managed to conquer the rest of the world.

The book includes an Audio CD with material that supports the story musically. So far, no other band has released a similar project in such a way. It is characteristic for EPICA, who is always looking for new ways to get their music out there and to communicate with their still increasing number of fans. In addition to material from the EPICA archives, ‘The Road To Paradiso’ contains an incredible amount of contributions by fans, who responded massively to the band’s appeal to send in their best stories and pictures.

The first issue of the book was presented in a sold-out Paradiso Amsterdam, the #1 Pop venue in Amsterdam, on May 4. This metal event of the year was witnessed by 1500 exhilarated fans. Simultaneously, recordings were made for a double-DVD set, which will be released later this year. This release coincides with the eighteen show tour through the United States and Canada. During this tour major cities like Atlanta, New York, Montréal, Toronto, Detroit, Seattle, San Francisco and Los Angeles will be attended. The road story continues…

The photo sound book ‘The Road To Paradiso’ will be released globally and shall be available at both bookstores and CD-stores. On http://www.theroadtoparadiso.com/ more information and visuals of the Paradiso concert can be found.
