We had a great time this last week at our U.S. shows. Thanks to everyone who made it out to see us!
We're heading off to Europe and Japan for some club and festival dates. There are a lot of great shows coming up and we look forward to seeing you at points near and far! One of the highlights of the summer will be double performances at both the Reading and Leeds Festivals where we'll be appearing on the Main Stages as well as the BBC Lock-Up Stages! We are very pleased to announce that our new DVD/CD, "Whiskey on a Sunday", will be in stores on July 25.
The DVD is a 106 minute feature length documentary film (with bonus footage) and the CD is the accompanying soundtrack featuring 10 new Flogging Molly recordings (to include 5 live recordings of fan favorites, 4 acoustic tracks and a brand new studio track!) Shot over two years and in seven countries, "Whiskey on a Sunday" is an intimate portrait of Flogging Molly that tracks us from our bar-band roots to our current success and includes footage of us in the studio, at home and on tour with one of the tour highlights being our sold-out homecoming performance at The Wiltern Theatre in Los Angeles. To top it all off, the artwork for "Whiskey on a Sunday" was created by the one and only Shepard Fairey!
We are very proud of the film and soundtrack and hope that you'll enjoy it. The DVD/CD comes out on July 25 and you'll be able to find it under Flogging Molly in the CD section of your favorite store. You can pre-order "Whiskey on a Sunday" right now and have it delivered to you on July 25! There is also a combo package you can order that includes the DVD/CD and a numbered, limited edition "Whiskey on a Sunday" silk-screened poster. For those of you who have been lucky enough to catch some of the "Whiskey on a Sunday" screenings, we hope you enjoyed it! If you haven't seen it yet, don't worry, we are screening the film around the country in the next few weeks. We have three Los Angeles screenings left at the place where it all began, Molly Malone's, and we have screenings set up in Portland, San Francisco, Seattle, Sarasota, Philadelphia, San Diego and Charlottesville. The Flogging Molly website is undergoing a series of renovations. For Phase One, we incorporated some of the images from the "Whiskey on a Sunday" DVD/CD booklet into the pages of the site. For a sneak peak of the artwork go to the website and check out our new look!
