The ex-frontwoman from Nightwish, Tarja Turunen, has given a pressconference in Helsinki this morning. She wrote a letter on her website before, but now she was willing to give more details.
NewsRoom Finland was there to give a live report. According to them Tarja said that she had decided to quit the band already in December 2004.

In that periode the band did a lot of shows, including the big festival in Oberhausen "On A Dark Winters Night". The show started more then half an hour too late and according to the band there were some problems with Tarjas flue.

During the pressconference Tarja Turunen, in tears, explained that she regret it that the announcement came in the format of a letter and not in a face-to-face conversation.

The record label of Nighwish announced that the group are currently seeking a replacement vocalist.  Before entering the studio in September 2006 to begin recording the follow-up to 2004's "Once", tentatively due in mid-2007.
