The second chapter of the legend is written: this weekend, PLAGE NOIRE 2019 enchanted the Weissenhäuser Strand and lured about 4,000 guests to the Baltic Sea. Therewith, for the second time more than half a year in a row, the indoor comfort festival was completely sold out and so PLAGE NOIRE 2019 was a full success, what makes it impossible to imagine the black scene without this festival over here.Already before the first official festival day, on Thursday, about one third of all guests arrived and celebrated the pre-opening party as an energy-bursting start. On Friday and Saturday, all sound facets of the genre could be experienced on three festival stages in total. The lyrical madness of GOETHES ERBEN, the endless melancholy of LACRIMAS PROFUNDERE or the driving guitars of END OF GREEN, the electrifying beats of HOCICO and ROTERSAND, the rousing wave of IN STRICT CONFIDENCE, DE/VISION and DIORAMA, the medieval sounds of TANZWUT and SALTATIO MORTIS or the sheer brutality of SCHATTENMANN - all wishes came true! With the headliners EISBRECHER and AND ONE and their lead singers Alex Wesselsky and Steve Naghavi, PLAGE NOIRE brought two exceptional characters onto the main stage, who totally had the audience under control because of their charisma and who provided unforgettable final moments at both festival days.
During two radio play workshops, together with the PLAGE NOIRE team, the festival guests set to music the mysterious legend that is wreathed around the festival and that is extended for another chapter year by year. This year, the guests on site already brought together piece by piece a first indication for the next chapter. The last part of the puzzle was delivered by the band SALTATIO MORTIS. Besides the music, the fashion and styling sector again was a centerpiece of the festival. The latex workshop taught what one has to know about this special kind of material, and fashion walks of the Galeria presented impressive latex fashion several times. With much more capacity, the promenade and shopping mall Le Bazar invited for rummaging, and the new medieval market formed another convivial place of coming together on the festival site.
Stephan Thanscheidt, head of festival booking and CEO of the organizer FKP Scorpio, makes up the balance: “We are more than satisfy with the course of the weekend and are already looking forward to the edition next year. PLAGE NOIRE 2020 will haunt the Weissenhäuser Strand on April 24 and 25. Ticket sale for the indoor festival of the black scene already started very successfully last Saturday directly on site.
