With full speed we are heading towards Christmas. Like every year, the hot phase before the celebration causes another busy period, before all the turmoil turns into a festive mood during the Christmas days.
Looking at the nearing end of the year, about 2012 it needs to be recognized, it has been by far the most beautiful and successful season in Amphi history. More than 16.000 attendants gathered this summer at the Tanzbrunnen Cologne and while the festival had never been sold out that early, the impressive programme and especially the marvelous summer-weather combined in a perfect festival weekend. On 20. & 21. July 2013 the dark summer fairytale opens the next chapter, because also for next year we already have numerous bands announced, to play for you at the 9th Amphi Festival. Shortly before Christmas we take the opportunity to feed the very diverse artist selection with two additional bands:
NEW BANDS CONFIRMED: OOMPH! / FADERHEAD
The headband red, the prey a-sweat, the hunter marked his target yet. A flash, a thud, a rolling thunder, riff-war tears the quiet asunder. Madness turns to mental state, whenOOMPH! appear to claim their bait! They sing of god and bright white light, a popstar now, crossed on you tight. Their cornerstone to rock them all is heavy sound with heart and all! As you might be wondering what this crazy rhyme is all about, have a listen to the latest OOMPH! Album „Des Wahnsinns fette Beute“, which takes their trademark-sound to a new level with uncompromised courage to step far beyond the borders. That´s why we welcome the charismatic band around lead figure Dero for a splendid return to the Amphi stage in July 2013. Second in line we actually have our popular electro-powerhouse FADERHEAD joining the Amphi Festival line-up. After his monster-hit „Tanz Zwo Drei Vier“ mastermind Sami Mark Yahya invites us on a journey into „The World Of Faderhead“, where he bids us welcome with a sincere „Fistful Of Fuck You!“. But he also has a sensitive side that enters the surface on stage, when cunning club-beats and sensitive electro-pop grooves merge into one spectacular live-show!
