KNOCK-OUT FESTIVAL - Within Temptation, Helloween, Gamma Ray, Axxis
All friends of good Metal would desire that the 12th January 2008 would come as fast as possible. For the second time, the Knock-Out Festival will open its doors to have a really good party time in the winter months. The Europahalle, one of the largest halls in the city, is an ideal place for a wonderful evening with bands like WITHIN TEMPTATION, GAMMA RAY, AXXIS and HELLOWEEN. These bands already show a well-considered choice for the fans. So we can only eagerly wait for the other bands to be revealed. The KNOCK-OUT Festival slowly establishes as a regular winter indoor festival which shouldn’t be missed.

Bands
WITHIN TEMPTATION
With a good mix of Gothic and Symphonic Metal, this Dutch band knows to inspire their fans again and again. Founded in 1996, WITHIN TEMPTATION climbed the hill in a relatively short time. Although their debut album ‘Enter’ brought not the desired success ‘Mother Earth’ managed to easily outstand this. 2002, the single ‘Ice Queen’ marked the absolute breakthrough in the international musical market. Their third album ‘The Silent Force’, which was shortly thereafter produced, became another major hit throughout Europe. HELLOWEEN
There is nothing more to say about these ancient heroes of Speed and Power Metal.
HELLOWEEN was founded in 1984 and they were one of the most successful Metal bands from Germany. They achieved their breakthrough with their first double album ‘Keeper Of The Seven Keys Part 1’. Many other bands from that kind of musical direction agree that this album had a strong influence on their music either. The second part of this album, which was published a year later, was even a bigger success than actually expected. After some long internal problems and changes HELLOWEEN tried again to find their way back to their old strength. After their mammoth tour in over 30 countries all fans could confirm that the keeper is back again. Their newest album ‘Gambling With The Devil’ takes a long way back to the ancient times and joins the old fame of former HELLOWEEN. GAMMA RAY
GAMMA RAY was founded in 1988 by the former member of HELLOWEEN Kai Hansen.
GAMMA RAY is another Speed and Power Metal band like HELLOWEEN. ‘Heading For Tomorrow’, their 1990 published album could carry away their fans from the start. Their second album ‘Sigh No More’ followed right after in the year 1991. ‘Genius And Insanity’ was released 1993 with two no band members; soon thereafter Ralf Scheepers left GAMMA RAY and Kai Hansen took over the guitar and singing. 1995 ‘Land Of The Free’ was released and during their tour in the same year their live album ‘Alive 95’ was recorded. Subsequent albums were gradually weaker and show some similarity with JUDAS PRIEST. With their ninth album ‘Land Of The Free Part 2’, GAMMA RAY found back to their roots. They fill the hearts of their old fans with a combination of a wonderful played melody, hard riffs and great booming bass. This album shows the old spirit of GAMMA RAY and so we can only look forward to hear them on the KNOCK-OUT Festival. Homepage: http://www.gamma-ray.com/
AXXIS
AXXIS, founded in 1988, inspire their fans with their repertoire of Hard Rock and Melodic Metal. With his high and distinctive voice, Bernhard White is trademark for the band. Some of their foes criticize this unique voice. With their debut album ‘Kingdom of the Night’ which was released 1989, they became famous over night. Among other things they played as a supporting act for Black Sabbath at the end of the year, their debut album was the best-selling debut album of a German rock band of all time. Their second album, ‘Axxis II’ was published in August 1990 and heralded also the headliner tour of Europe. With their album ‘Voodoo Vibes’ they picked up the influences of Grunge and some of their fans could not approve this. In March 2000 they released the album ‘Back To The Kingdom’, which is a promising restart. The classic sound of AXXIS again presented a pleasure for their fans. And with their tenth studio album, ‘Destiny of Doom’, available on November 16th, their fans could certainly be brought back to good old times and enjoy fine Melodic Metal.
