SOULFLY is Max Cavalera, Max Cavalera is SOULFLY. Without the charismatic former SEPULTURA front man, the band would not exist at all. And Cavalera is therefore much in personal union: Mysterious shaman, protest singer, revolutionary hero, everyday metal head, and intensive consumer of all forms of hard music, husband, father, role model and songwriter. The Brazilian now lives in the USA and has fans all over the world, from the merciless slums of South America to the coldest depths of Russia. His message is clear. Wherever people find themselves confronted with deprivation and oppression, SOULFLY songs serve as hymns to them.
As a pioneering pioneer and musician, Max Cavalera has lost none of his authenticity and the well-filled inner drive of a street kid despite millions of records sold and he is one of the most prolific musicians in the heavy metal scene worldwide. SOULFLY will also be touring several cities in Germany in parallel with the new album released in the summer. Max Cavalera about the upcoming yet-untitled studio album: “I know that many musicians always praise their latest work as their best; this is not different, because it unites all the elements of SOULFLY that I love so much. There are some tribal grooves, but also fast pieces. You could almost call it “tribal thrash”, something that never happened before.
