HANTE. (“Haunts” in French) is a secret solo female project. On Soundcloud, the only description you can read is “Haunted Wave from Paris”. Up to now, HANTE. has released two very promising tracks on the internet: ‘Damages’ and ‘Beyond The Waves’. It's magnificent Dark Minimal Synth-Pop, pretty much in the style of PHOSPHOR, LINEA ASPERA, MINUIT MACHINE, etc. Despite the name of the band, there are no witch-house or witch-wave accents in the music.
When I first listened to the songs, it made me think of one existing band. I contacted the artist via Facebook and it turned out that my guess was right, as she's also playing in this band. I asked more information and here is the answer she gave me: “I'm from Paris and I am working on a first EP that will be released on the French label Stellar Kinematics. I've been and am in a few bands oriented Darkwave / Coldwave but I didn't reveal who I am for now because I really want to know what people think about my music. All I can say is that I fall in love with bands very rarely but when it happens, I'm kind of obsessional. To tell a few names: XENO&OAKLANDER, LINEA ASPERA, THE FROZEN AUTUMN, CHVRCHES, M83, DEPECHE MODE, THE HUMAN LEAGUE, TEARS FOR FEARS and many more... My three last crushes for songs are ‘Love, French, Better’ by GOLD ZEBRA, ‘Losing Touch’ by EMPATHY TEST and ‘Deliverance’ by h ø r d. I never get tired of those songs!”
Looking forward to this mysterious EP! It is due to be released in the fall and will include 4 tracks.
