Italian gothic metal formation THE LOVECRAVE surprises its fans with a new EP entitled ‘Crisalide’. The release opens with the cover version of Michael Jackson’s ‘Thriller’ and I must say a rather good one but the more interesting pieces are still to come. Actually ‘Crisalide’ is packed with interesting and in some way unique material. Two remixes for starters definitely have their moments however listeners may appreciate the following tracks much more as at first there are four unplugged songs. Actually this part impressed me most of all: wonderful acoustic compositions supplemented with charming Francesca’s voice and even male backing vocals are meant to take you away to another this time peculiar journey in the world of THE LOVECRAVE.
Well, that’s not all and further we can find some more exclusive pieces including a live version of ‘Vampires’ and three demos among I can mark out the one of ‘Fading Roses’. So in general, this EP is just a must-have for any devoted fan of the band to enlarge his or her collection but of course those who just like the style won’t be disappointed with the release as well.
