A bit of a mixed baghere from LOWFIELD, but it’s buoyant and varied enough to keep interest levels peaky. The title track opens oddly but settles down soon enough, and from then on in there’s a fizz of energy to the songs that compensates for the occasional lapse into the ordinary. ‘Someday’ is a magnificent pop bouncer, and both ‘Sunshine’ and ‘Painted In Pink Snow’ manage to sound like NEW ORDER and U2 rutting passionately back in the early 90’s. Which is better than it sounds.
Conclusion: Fresh-faced and keen to please, it’s hard not to like, but maybe love will only come with further introductions.
