Hard and insistent riffs with an electronic edge vie with well executed vocals to launch this album with 'It's time again', a harsh and solid introduction which isn't afraid to mix genres to really good effect. 'Proud' comes next with a wealth of gritty riffs and sound effects with a thundering good melody that gets right into your bloodstream. 'Only in my dreams' blends Goth, Rock and Electronica together perfectly, spun seamlessly by awesome vocals and tight instrumentation. The fourth track 'Darkened' is more rambling than it's predecessors but is still an excellent track, just a little looser and somewhat more incoherent in style.
'Thoughts' screams electronic wailing synths at you coupled with what sounds like castanets and hard, hard guitars. Got to be good then? Yes indeed, very, very. 'Lost' is tuneful and morbid, but in a good way, whilst 'Taste of Paradise' is just sublimely weird and driven. I really like this track with its disjointed tempo and vocals that are scrambled and fascinating. 'Feel the fire' reminds me of Hazel O'Connor's 'Eighth Day', it has the same kind of insistent rabid vocal that perfectly matches the beat and is another quality offering from this impressive German band. 'We don't die' is for me the best track on the album, with emotive lyrics that reach hidden depths and a tune that you won't get out of your head for weeks.
The penultimate track 'Fading Away' is largely spoken, with Sassy Skeleton's own inimitable style making it effective rather than cheesy and the perfect prequel to 'Doom' the final track. This is melodic, almost symphonic at times and a very good choice for a closer being a very meaty track, full of careful arrangements, beautiful vocals and devastating effects. It's a very good album, perfect for anyone who likes people who work outside the box of their supposed genres and a good addition to anyone's library.
