hatari promoIt’s not so easy to leave an impression at the Eurovision Song Contest. Such a mixed crowd of queer, bright, singing, screaming, dancing, and languishing people is hard to find somewhere else in European TV. The Icelandic trio HATARI competed in Israel and stood out from all the pop songs with their apocalyptic and capitalism-critical single ‘Hatrið mun sigra’ that ranges between Industrial Pop and Gothic.

The shores of the river Rhine in Cologne are once again calling for us this summer. End of July is Amphi time! Since 2005 the two-day festival has been luring dark music lovers from all around with a high-class, diverse, international line-up ranging from Synth Pop to Industrial and Post Punk to Dark Rock. Traditional and iconic artistes share the stage with modern and rising acts promising a multi-coloured black celebration at the “dancing fountain”, the Tanzbrunnen, in Cologne.

SouthsideThe Southside Festival exists since 1999 and was established as South-German pendant of the Hurricane Festival in the North. Over the last years, the festival in Neuhausen ob Eck presented internationally successful artists, popular German acts and a large amount of newcomers, of which some are today’s headliners. Every year, more than 130,000 visitors from all over Europe come and visit the Hurricane and the Southside Festival. The concepts of both events are in consequent further development, e.g. new, more flexible and comfortable camping options or more wide-ranged supply and gastronomic offers. Furthermore, the twin festivals come along with their own radio station, the Beck’s Camp FM, that reports live from the Scheeßel and Neuhausen ob Eck festival madness and provides year-round festival atmosphere as web stream.
