the hives thehivesforeverforeverthehivesTo Whom It May Concern - which means: basically everyone. This royal announcement is to inform you that THE HIVES, the greatest Rock band to have ever graced the Earth with their mere existence - and the best live band on the planet - have, sooner than expected, created a new masterpiece, unlike anything heard before and likely never to be heard again. Eternity itself has surrendered, publicly declaring that these five kings will be the first band in history to walk through the gates of everlasting existence. All of this is made possible by the release of their new album: ‘The Hives Forever Forever The Hives’, which will be out on August 29, 2025, via the prestigious label Play It Again Sam. This new chapter begins with the first single, ‘Enough Is Enough’, followed by state visits in the fall - including eight shows in German-speaking countries.

THE HIVES, consisting of Howlin’ Pelle, Chris Dangerous, The Johan And Only, Nicholaus Arson, and Vigilante Carlstroem, have carved their place in Rock history over the past thirty years, selling out massive stadiums and sharing the stage with AC/DC, THE ROLLING STONES, ARCTIC MONKEYS, and FOO FIGHTERS. With millions of albums sold and numerous awards - including Grammys, MTV Awards, and NME Awards - they remain one of the biggest bands in the world. According to Joe Strummer, they are solely responsible for saving Rock’n’Roll.

“It’s really cool we’ve been a band this long and we still want to do this,” says Pelle. “We’ve never sounded better. This is it for me. We’ll keep going until we can’t. This is our classical music, rock music, you know. Forever.”

Founded in 1993 as teenagers in the small Swedish town of Fagersta, THE HIVES made their breakthrough with their 1997 debut album ‘Barely Legal’, followed by ‘Veni Vidi Vicious’ in 2000. Over the years, they continued evolving their sound with ‘Tyrannosaurus Hives’ (2004), ‘The Black and White Album’ (2007), and ‘Lex Hives’ (2012). Most recently, they released ‘The Death of Randy Fitzsimmons’ in 2023.

Their latest and seventh studio album was recorded at both Yung Lean / YEAR0001 Studios and Riksmixningsverket - the legendary studio owned by Benny Andersson of ABBA in Stockholm. The album was produced by long-time collaborator Pelle Gunnerfeldt, known for his work with VIAGRA BOYS, YUNG LEAN, and ELVIRA. In addition, a very special guest, Mike D of BEASTIE BOYS, travelled across the ocean to contribute to the record. None other than Josh Homme of QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE also offered his expertise during the creative process.

The first single, ‘Enough Is Enough’, comes with a spectacular music video, filmed in Bucharest. Directed by the renowned, award-winning filmmaker Eik Kockum, the video throws the band into the boxing ring, delivering a sweaty, high-energy performance without holding back. “Who in their right mind would start a song like this? No one but THE HIVES. They are here again sooner than you expected, and they have had enough of everyone at this point. Hence the title. Dig? Dig.”
