heather nova the orchardHEATHER NOVA is set to release her 14th studio album, ‘The Orchard’, on 30 October 2026 via V2 Records / Bertus, available on CD, LP, and digital platforms. The album’s third single and focus track, ‘In The Path of Hurricanes’, will be unleashed on 4 September 2026.

Since her major breakthrough in the early 1990s with the chart-topping hit ‘Walk This World’ from her seminal album ‘Oyster’, HEATHER NOVA has continuously written songs, recorded critically acclaimed albums, and toured the globe. With ‘The Orchard’, she adds a radiant new chapter to her extensive body of work.

The album captivates with its powerful melodies and rich, poetic imagery. While the songs dive into immense emotional depths, the overarching sentiment is one of hope, light, and endless possibilities - offering exactly what listeners need in these turbulent times.

Songs as Mantras and Forms of Manifestation

During the songwriting process for ‘The Orchard’, Heather became profoundly aware that songs can act as a form of manifestation. Words that are sung repeatedly during recording sessions and live performances develop a power akin to mantras or prayers.

“I wanted to be mindful of that when writing; to keep exploring the depths of emotion, because that’s the songwriter’s job, but to also make sure I tapped into the light, and kept in mind that whatever we do repeatedly, we embody.”

The previously released title track, ‘The Orchard’, sets the atmospheric tone for the album with its poetic, nostalgic, and luminous imagery. The song reflects on youthful innocence and wonder, exploring the idea that the vulnerability and joy of our early years remain alive within us, preserved in our very cells. As life progresses, heartbreak and disappointments often lead us to build protective walls and harden our hearts. Yet, ‘The Orchard’ poses a beautiful question: what if all that softness is still slumbering inside us, simply waiting to be rediscovered?

Seamless Collaboration in London with Tim Bran

Heather recorded the album in London during the winter with renowned producer Tim Bran. She chose Bran due to his deep sensitivity to the emotional core of a song and his proven ability to create authentic, organic, yet contemporary productions - a talent she has long admired in his work with HAEVN and LONDON GRAMMAR.

Bran produced and mixed the album, whilst also contributing bass, electric guitar, and keyboards. Reflecting on the studio sessions, Heather shares: “Working with him was so effortless; we were completely on the same wavelength, and everything just flowed during our intense six-week session.”
