The line-ups for Hurricane and Southside Festivals 2027 are growing, with 32 more acts confirmed. KONTRA K will join PLACEBO, DERMOT KENNEDY, SUBLIME, BEABADOOBEE, ALT-J and many more artists performing in Scheeßel and Neuhausen ob Eck from 18 to 20 June. The new additions join previously announced headliners MUSE, MGK (MACHINE GUN KELLY) and PHOEBE BRIDGERS. The electronic programme at the Electric Wave stage is also taking shape, with FELIX JAEHN and ELY OAKS among the latest additions. Further names will be announced soon.
KONTRA K is one of Germany’s most successful rappers and an artist whose music has a particularly powerful impact on stage. His songs explore adversity, self-doubt and the determination to keep going despite setbacks. Combining hard-hitting beats with messages that resonate far beyond the German rap scene, the Berlin-born artist has reached an audience of millions.
For nearly three decades, PLACEBO have demonstrated on the biggest stages that rock music becomes particularly compelling when it defies easy categorisation. The Alternative Rock legends have developed a dark, intricate sound that combines guitars with electronic elements, pairing vulnerable lyrics with musical intensity. Their international success over the past 30 years is testament to their enduring appeal.
Big emotions do not necessarily require grand gestures. DERMOT KENNEDY proves as much with his compelling voice and exceptional storytelling talent, which have made him one of Ireland’s most successful singer-songwriters. Blending Folk, Pop and subtle Hip-Hop influences, he transforms personal experiences into universal stories. In 2027, German audiences will be able to see him exclusively at HURRICANE and SOUTHSIDE.
SUBLIME have created a sound that captures the spirit of Southern California like few others. The band combines Ska, Punk, Reggae and Hip-Hop into a distinctive mix that has made music history with songs such as ‘Santeria’ and ‘What I Got’. Next year, they will also be performing exclusively at the twin festivals in Germany.
BEABADOOBEE demonstrates that quieter sounds can be just as affecting. The British-Filipino musician will appear exclusively at HURRICANE and SOUTHSIDE next year, blending the guitar aesthetics of the 1990s with contemporary Indie Pop and a particular sensitivity to the conflicting emotions of growing up.
Since their acclaimed debut ‘An Awesome Wave’, ALT-J have resisted easy genre classifications. Indie Rock, Folk, electronic elements and unusual rhythms merge into intricately layered songs that remain immediately accessible despite their experimental approach. In 2027, they too will perform exclusively at HURRICANE and SOUTHSIDE in Germany.
The other new additions further demonstrate the musical quality and diversity of the twin festivals. BILDERBUCH will appear exclusively at HURRICANE and SOUTHSIDE, combining eccentric Indie Rock with Funk and Pop, while MADSEN have been delivering energetic German-language guitar rock for more than two decades. ENTER SHIKARI bring Post-Hardcore into collision with electronic music, while LEONIDEN captivate audiences with virtuosic Indie Rock and boundless energy on stage.
SKI AGGU, BLUMENGARTEN and MAKKO join the bill, each demonstrating in their own way just how diverse German-language Pop music has become. ROYAL BLOOD bring hard-hitting British Rock, while CHVRCHES impress with atmospheric Synthpop and BLEACHERS with anthemic Indie Pop. HOLLY HUMBERSTONE tells compelling stories at the intersection of Indie and Alternative Pop.
Further variety comes from CHAPO102, who combines Rap with personal storytelling; BOY HARSHER, bringing dark Darkwave and Synthpop; and SOUTH ARCADE, with their blend of Alternative Rock and Pop-Punk influences. TEMPER CITY capture the raw charm of the 2000s with modern Alternative sounds and catchy melodies, while RAUM27 combine emotional lyrics with infectious Indie Rock.
DEXTER AND THE MOONROCKS, ANNA GREY, THE PARADOX, SHOWING TEETH and GOOD NEIGHBOURS also join the line-up, each bringing a different perspective on contemporary guitar-based and Pop music. Completing the latest announcements are BLEECH 9:3, TULPE and EVENING ELEPHANTS.
Two more additions to the Electric Wave programme promise electronic highlights. FELIX JAEHN is one of the best-known German names in electronic music, with international hits including ‘Cheerleader’ and ‘Ain’t Nobody (Loves Me Better)’. ELY OAKS has made a name for himself with energetic productions and a keen ear for catchy electronic sounds.
Further acts will be announced over the coming months. HURRICANE and SOUTHSIDE FESTIVALS take place from 18 to 20 June 2027. Tickets are available at www.hurricane.de and www.southside.de. HURRICANE and SOUTHSIDE FESTIVALS are jointly organised by FKP Scorpio and PRK DreamHaus.
