hurricane 2025Organizer FKP Scorpio has announced the first 15 names for the line-up of the twin festivals Hurricane and Southside, taking place from June 20 to 22, 2025. Each year, the festivals attract around 140,000 music fans to Scheeßel and Neuhausen ob Eck, and more than 60,000 tickets were sold out just hours after pre-sales began.

GREEN DAY have always excelled at pointing out the wounds of the zeitgeist. Their album ‘Saviors’, released this year, is no exception, both musically and socially relevant. With 75 million albums sold and five Grammys under their belt, the numbers speak for themselves. GREEN DAY know what they’re doing and still have plenty to say. It’s best to listen to them live - something awards can’t change.

ANNENMAYKANTEREIT never had to be loud to make themselves heard: their lyrics are too deep, their harmony too unique, and the emotions of their vast fanbase too immediate for that. Their current album ‘Es ist Abend und wir sitzen bei mir’ once again effortlessly demonstrates what a million-strong audience loves about the Cologne band: a clear, impactful language whose lyrical power is always supported by musical skill.

SDP are also masters of words, in a way that transcends traditional genre boundaries. With a great enthusiasm for being different, the Berlin duo floats through Pop, Rock, Dance, or Hip-Hop, and their multi-layered lyrics never become a trapdoor for them. Even if someone misinterprets the duo, they’ll still enjoy themselves, as SDP has never taken themselves - or anyone else - too seriously. This creates something great: societal critique you can dance to.

ALLIGATOAH should also be described as both musician and alchemist. His current album ‘Off’ is a personal synthesis of his past and present, combining Metal and Hip-Hop. Weeks spent at the top of the charts and celebrated live shows have proven that this mix is a recipe for future success. Perhaps the biggest indicator of his success is that ALLIGATOAH managed to get die-hard metalheads to dance to a NO ANGELS cover. Chapeau!

ELECTRIC CALLBOY are musical boundary-pushers that Hurricane and Southside guests shouldn’t miss: Metalcore and Electro, held together by a steel rope of riffs and beats that can support any genre the Castrop-Rauxel band dreams up. A celebrated world tour, chart peaks, and admiration from fans and musicians alike are natural byproducts of such creativity.

Nina Chuba’s meteoric rise likely has many reasons: the Northern light from Wedel delivers incredible dancehall beats with forward momentum, but also ballads that reveal a fragility perfectly encapsulated in her album title ‘Glas’. Chuba’s voice carries both loud and soft tones - and a unique career that promises many more great songs and goosebump moments.

Also announced is BIFFY CLYRO: the Scots are one of the leading voices in alternative and progressive rock worldwide, and in their nearly 30-year career, they have never left any doubt about their desire to keep pushing forward. In front of the stage, little of the musical precision, meticulous dramaturgy, and technical finesse necessary for their music is noticeable - because this fantastic trio makes it all look incredibly easy.

Guests of Hurricane and Southside can also look forward to the following acts: 01099, YELLOWCARD, VON WEGEN LISBETH, WET LEG, AMYL AND THE SNIFFERS, BERQ, BLOND, and IKKIMEL. More acts will be announced soon. Tickets start at €239 (Hurricane) and €279 (Southside). For more information, visit www.hurricane.de and www.southside.de.
