Tame Impala - “Deadbeat EU/UK Tour” 2027 - Support: Wet Leg
After playing sold-out shows worldwide in 2025 and 2026 and touring Germany for five dates in spring, TAME IMPALA has now announced his return to Europe for summer 2027. As part of this tour, he will make a stop at Cologne’s Lanxess Arena on 17 June 2027 with his current hit album ‘Deadbeat’. He will be supported by the English Indie Rock band WET LEG.
With this, the Australian builds on various milestones: the song ‘Loser’ was just featured in ‘Spiderman: Brand New Day’, climbed to number one on the Global Spotify Charts and reached the top 25 of the Billboard Hot 100, while ‘Dracula (JENNIE Remix)’ still lingers in the top 10. ‘Dracula’ was also nominated in the “Best Alternative” category at the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards. With ‘Deadbeat’, TAME IMPALA has delivered a record that once again proves his sound skillfully oscillates between the past, present and future - and strikes a chord while doing so.
Under the name TAME IMPALA, Kevin Parker has carved out an unconventional career over the past decade and a half, taking him from a bedroom producer in Perth to one of the most influential musicians of his generation. His love for music began as a child. At twelve, he played riffs in his parents’ bedroom; at 15, he imitated Jimmy Page. When THE DEE DEE DUMS won the Australian campus band competition in 2007, the path was cleared for a new beginning: a better name - TAME IMPALA - and a mastermind obsessively burying himself in his own sonic worlds.
With ‘Innerspeaker’ (2010), Parker catapulted psychedelic rock into the present; ‘Lonerism’ (2012) consolidated his reputation as a detail-obsessed studio perfectionist. By the time ‘Currents’ (2015) was released, he made the radical step away from retro sounds towards synthetic elegance. Finally, ‘The Slow Rush’ (2020) brought his chart breakthrough - reaching number one in several countries and leading to worldwide tours.
‘Deadbeat’ follows in those footsteps, but in a new, raw way. The record, inspired by Western Australia’s rave and bush doof culture, sounds like a return to Parker’s roots, but under completely different conditions: minimalist, with crisp textures, yet driven by a euphoria that can be felt on dance floors just as much as through headphones. Songs like ‘Loser’, the epic ‘End of Summer’ or the viral ‘Dracula’ combine hypnotic club atmospheres with Parker’s signature instinct for melodies that instantly get stuck in your head. Lyrically, however, the album feels darker: Parker paints the picture of an eternal ‘Deadbeat’, a self-deprecating loser caught in the loop of his own mistakes - and turning exactly that into art.
Yet as much as TAME IMPALA remains a one-man band in the studio, the songs unfold their true life on stage. Light shows merge with echoing bass, guitar lines float through misty rooms, while entire arenas move in a trance-like state. Parker knows how to combine introspection and collective ecstasy - a rare balance that has made TAME IMPALA festival headlines from Glastonbury to Coachella. For many fans, the concerts are more than a performance: they resemble an immersive rush that blocks out all reality for hours. In June 2027, Kevin Parker brings this experience back to Germany.
