The line-ups for Hurricane and Southside Festival 2027 are beginning to take shape. With MUSE, MGK and PHOEBE BRIDGERS, three internationally acclaimed acts have been announced, representing some of the most distinctive voices in global music. Together with 14 further names, they will bring big anthems, fresh perspectives and plenty of energy to Scheeßel and Neuhausen ob Eck from 18 to 20 June.MUSE have mastered the art of turning huge emotions into equally huge music. Matt Bellamy, Chris Wolstenholme and Dominic Howard have created a sound in which powerful rock riffs, electronic experimentation and classical influences come together seamlessly. At the centre of it all is Bellamy’s unmistakable voice, effortlessly moving between quiet melancholy and dramatic heights.
Having already surpassed their legendary beginnings with ‘Origin of Symmetry’, the band have continued to develop their musical vision, as demonstrated by ‘The Wow! Signal’, which reached the top of international charts earlier this year. This ambition also defines their live shows: MUSE combine instrumental precision with an intensity that carries their music far beyond the front rows.
MGK has also reinvented himself musically several times, taking millions of fans along for the ride. Having started out in rap, Machine Gun Kelly embraced Pop-Punk with ‘Tickets to My Downfall’, taking the album straight to the top of the US charts. He repeated the feat with its follow-up, ‘Mainstream Sellout’, which also earned him a GRAMMY nomination for Best Rock Album. Behind these successes is an enduring instinct for songs that turn personal crises and big emotions into infectious choruses. Somewhere between distorted guitars, unfiltered vulnerability and boundless energy, MGK has found a voice entirely his own - while his fans regularly lose theirs singing along in front of the stage.
An equally distinctive voice belongs to PHOEBE BRIDGERS. The Californian singer-songwriter writes with remarkable precision about loss, intimacy and the contradictions of everyday life. Her humour is as dry as her lyrics are uncompromising, while her music moves between delicate Indie Folk and expansive guitar arrangements. With ‘Stranger in the Alps’ and ‘Punisher’, she has created songs that feel intimate while reaching a huge audience. At HURRICANE and SOUTHSIDE, the four-time GRAMMY winner will demonstrate just how much power can lie in a restrained voice and the right words.
IKKIMEL, meanwhile, brings Berlin directness to the festival stages. With punchy electronic beats, explicit rap lyrics and playful provocation, she turns self-determination into an exuberant party. Restraint is expressly not part of the concept. Also confirmed are Post-Hardcore heavyweights PIERCE THE VEIL and Metalcore giants I PREVAIL, both of whom excel at combining hard-hitting songs with huge melodies.
DROPKICK MURPHYS bring their unmistakable Celtic Punk, while FEINE SAHNE FISCHFILET combine Punk Rock with outspoken conviction. GIANT ROOKS deliver anthemic Indie Pop, while PAULA HARTMANN explores life between city nights and vulnerable moments in dark Pop songs. SIMPLE PLAN, meanwhile, arrive from Canada as a genuine Pop-Punk institution.
For raw Rap and maximum mayhem, MEHNERSMOOS are on hand; THE INTERRUPTERS bring infectious Ska-Punk; and DEINE COUSINE delivers edgy Rock with a clear message. Unusual sounds come from ANGINE DE POITRINE, whose experimental Math Rock, intricate rhythms and microtonal guitars have developed into a global phenomenon. SOFIA ISELLA offers dark Alternative Pop and uncompromising perspectives, while APSILON completes the new additions with socially conscious Rap and personal storytelling.
