ZWEITE JUGEND & EMMON push ‘Salz’ into a shadowy, hypnotic club realm as they join forces on a reworked and reimagined version of ZWEITE JUGEND’s original track. The single is released May 29th on Icons Creating Evil Art.Their paths first crossed on the European electro and EBM circuit - from clubs to festivals like Synth i Molkom, deep in the forests of Värmland, Sweden. What began as mutual admiration quickly evolved into creative alignment. Sharing a vision rooted in emotional intensity, physical sound and uncompromising expression, a collaboration felt inevitable. What started as a remix exchange soon transformed into something far more substantial: a full artistic meeting point where ‘Salz’ is reborn.
At the core of ZWEITE JUGEND are Marcel Lüke and Eli van Vegas, a duo known for their minimalist, analogue-driven approach to EBM. With roots in projects like COMBAT COMPANY and a strong presence on the European scene - including performances at Wave Gotik Treffen, NCN Festival and BIMFEST - the band has built a reputation for combining raw physical energy with emotionally charged, concept-driven songwriting. Their work centers on the human psyche, self-destruction and desire, always delivered through stripped-down, aggressive sound design rooted in classic EBM lineage.
EMMON, the project of Swedish producer and artist Emma Nylén, stands as one of Scandinavia’s most acclaimed electronic acts. Known for her intense live performances and a sound that fuses EBM, Techno and Darkwave, she has toured extensively across Europe and gained international recognition. Her latest album ‘ICON’ further cemented her position as a leading force in the modern dark electronic scene - blending raw power with emotional depth and club-driven precision.
Together, they transform ‘Salz’ into a darker, more immersive and dancefloor-focused experience.
Emma (EMMON): “We were immediately drawn to the original track’s raw energy and direct groove, with the lyrics looping throughout. I instantly felt the urge to add my vocals, and then we gave it a more ‘ravey’ touch for the darker side of the dancefloor.”
Eli (ZWEITE JUGEND): “This collaboration of ‘Salz’ doesn’t simply feel like a bucket list item - even if it is - it also gives us perspective on how we can move forward. Inspiration doesn’t have to be a one-way street. I love EMMON’s music, but even more her live shows. You can’t learn that - you have to be it.”
The result is a track that bridges generations and approaches within the electronic underground: ZWEITE JUGEND’s analogue, emotionally driven foundation collides with EMMON’s high-impact, club-oriented production. ‘Salz’ becomes something both visceral and transcendent - a shared language between body and mind, past and present.
Released May 29 via Icons Creating Evil Art, ‘Salz’ stands as a testament to what happens when two strong artistic identities meet - not to compromise, but to amplify.
