europe comethismadnessSwedish Rock giants EUROPE have announced their long-awaited return with ‘Come This Madness’, their twelfth studio album and first in nine years. Set for release on 25 September via Silver Lining Music / Hell & Back Recordings, the record marks what the band describe as their most powerful musical statement to date.

Alongside the announcement, EUROPE have unveiled the first single ‘One On One’, available now alongside an official music video. The track signals a commanding comeback, blending the band’s classic sound with a renewed, modern energy. Built around a driving bassline and soaring melodies, the song evolves from an orchestral introduction into a riff-heavy, stadium-ready hard rock anthem. Written over several years and shaped during a period of global standstill, ‘One On One’ captures both resilience and artistic progression.

Frontman Joey Tempest comments: “‘One On One’ is definitely one of my favourite tracks on the album. The energy and feel are fresh, and some of the melodies take me back to our early days. Lyrically, it reflects the times we’re living in now. We held on to this song from its demo stage and never gave up on it - it’s become a classic, uplifting hard rock track.”

The accompanying video introduces a bold new visual direction for the band. Set in a stark, cinematic environment, it centres on a single emotionally vulnerable character portrayed by acclaimed actor Peter Stormare (Fargo, The Big Lebowski, Minority Report). Directed by renowned filmmaker Patric Ullaeus, the clip offers a stripped-back yet powerful interpretation of the song. “We wanted to approach this from a different angle - more minimal and unexpected,” Tempest adds.

Recorded at Stockholm’s RMV Studio, founded by Benny and Ludvig Andersson, ‘Come This Madness’ features guest appearances from Tobias Forge (GHOST) and Michael Åkerfeldt (OPETH). Production duties were handled by Tom Dalgety (GHOST, RAMMSTEIN, PIXIES, THE CULT), who played a key role throughout the creative process. “Working with Tom was an absolute pleasure,” says Tempest. “He’s incredibly intuitive and became almost like a sixth member of the band.”

Mixing was entrusted to legendary engineer Mike Fraser (AC/DC, METALLICA, VAN HALEN), while the album artwork was created by Storm Studios, known for their work with PINK FLOYD and LED ZEPPELIN. With ‘Come This Madness’, EUROPE deliver a record that captures them at full creative strength - honest, dynamic and unflinching in its reflection of the modern world.

The release will be followed by an extensive run of live shows, including festival appearances and a major anniversary tour celebrating 40 years of ‘The Final Countdown’. The tour kicks off on 30 September in Glasgow.
