On 11 and 12 September 2026, it is that time again: Folk, Medieval vibes and Rock unite on the Rhine-Herne Canal as the Folkfield Festival takes place for the fourth time at the Amphitheater in Gelsenkirchen. What began in 2022 has long since become an established meeting point for fans of folk-rock, medieval sounds and high-energy shows - and 2026 promises to be bigger, louder and more thrilling than ever.As proud hosts, SCHANDMAUL invite you to the Gelsenkirchen Amphitheater to indulge in folk and medieval rock alongside fellow bands against an atmospheric backdrop. In next to no time, SCHANDMAUL have succeeded in establishing a new highlight on the calendar for the folk and medieval community with the Folkfield Festival.
You can look forward to a line-up that leaves nothing to be desired: as headliners and hosts, SCHANDMAUL will take centre stage on both nights of the festival. With poetic lyrics, gripping energy and charismatic stage presence, they create unforgettable moments and invite their audience to dance, dream and celebrate. They have also invited top-tier guests: FIDDLER’S GREEN, who have been delivering rousing speed-folk shows full of Celtic melodies and Punk attitude for decades, as well as SUBWAY TO SALLY, whose distinctive blend of Folk, Metal and dark romanticism ensures spectacular festival moments.
WIND ROSE will make the earth shake with their epic sagas. RAUHBEIN and Doppelbock provide gritty rock with heart and attitude, while IRDORATH enchant with mystical sounds, and DEUS VULT add a powerful punch to the festival.
With its unique location right by the water, its unmistakable atmosphere and two days filled with music, friendship and unforgettable moments, the Folkfield Festival 2026 is an absolute must for anyone who loves Folk and Medieval Rock. There will also be a medieval market.
