Simple Minds - “The V Tour 2027” - Special Guest: Level 42
Not really many bands are still so active and prominent after so many years as SIMPLE MINDS from Scotland. 19 studio albums, 8 live albums and numerous “best of” albums are the result of many years’ work. In 2027, singer Jim Kerr and guitarist Charlie Burchill will return to Germany as part of their “V-Tour”.
The “V” here stands for the Roman numeral five. This tour celebrates five decades - that is, fifty years - of SIMPLE MINDS’ history. Songs such as ‘Don’t You (Forget It About Me)’, ‘New Gold Dream 81 82 83 84’, ‘The American’, ‘Love Song’, ‘Belfast Child’ and ‘Alive and Kicking’ are almost certain to be played on the night. They’ll also be bringing along their new 19th album, ‘Sacrosanct’, due for release in 2027. The song ‘Beginner Boys’ has already been released as the first single.

The equally well-known band LEVEL 42 were booked as the support act. The British band delivered their funk hits ‘Lessons In Love’, ‘Hot Water’ and ‘Running In The Family’. A distinctive feature and a highlight of LEVEL 42 is the playing style of bassist and singer Mark King. From an early age, he played his bass guitar using the slap technique - a combination of slapping and plucking - which has come to define the band’s distinctive funk style.
