Fast forward to the year 2075: The world is now fully controlled by artificial intelligence. Machines handle all critical tasks in industry, research, and society. A self-contained system - except for one remaining flaw: the human being. But for how much longer?With their futuristic new headbanger ‘Evolution’, Czech EDM rockers BLITZ UNION return with their first new single in over a year, announcing their upcoming studio album of the same name.
Following the success of their 2021 debut album ‘Absolution’, along with several EPs and singles that racked up millions of streams, BLITZ UNION now ignite the next chapter in their journey. ‘Evolution’ is the first taste of their highly anticipated sophomore record, showcasing a bold sonic leap forward. And yet, the track remains unmistakably BLITZ UNION - as already hinted at in last year’s teaser single ‘Blitz Coin’.
With ‘Evolution’, the band signals a major step in their creative development. Their signature mix of heavy guitar riffs, catchy electro hooks, and atmospheric Industrial beats is still present - but now joined by new arrangements, fresh sounds, and diverse influences. Lyrically, the band dives into themes of growth, transformation, and humanity’s role in an AI-dominated future. As frontman Mark Blitz explains, the song explores the world from the perspective of artificial intelligence:
“Used wisely, AI can do great things and make our lives easier. But if it spirals out of control, it can become a serious threat. In Evolution, the machines view humans as primitive and weak, but also respect us for having created them.”
The band takes the concept a step further, linking it to contemporary questions around gender identity, imagining a future where AI takes over the task of defining it: “The chorus goes, ‘From Adam to Madame, from Eve to Steve.’ I imagine AI experimenting on us, trying to engineer the perfect human being. Will they help us take the next evolutionary step - or mark the end of humanity?”
The track is accompanied by a stunning, cinematic music video inspired by Stanley Kubrick’s sci-fi classic ‘2001: A Space Odyssey’. Watch the video here:
‘Evolution’ will be released on 27 June 2025 via Dreamstart Music / Kontor New Media. The full album ‘Evolution’ follows in January 2026.
Before then, Blitz Union will hit several European festivals this summer and will perform a special hometown show in Prague on 12 December 2025 at Palác Akropolis. In February 2026, they launch their official “Evolution Tour”.
