sea of sin faithSEA OF SIN are a New-Wave Pop band from Germany, founded in the 1990s, and have been making impact in the international Synthpop scene from the very beginning, especially with their debut album ‘Watch Out!’ and the ‘Illuminate EP’, which was produced by Heiko Maile, a member of German synthpop pioneers CAMOUFLAGE.

After a lengthy creative break, Frank Zwicker and Klaus Schill made an impressive return to the scene in 2019 with the album ‘Unbroken’. The album reached number 2 in the German Alternative Charts (Deutsche Alternative Charts -DAC). Due to the pandemic, the band focused on studio work and exciting remix collaborations in 2021 - the best tracks and remixes were released in March 2021 as ‘The Remixes II’. This album, featuring remixes by MESH, NITE, and MAN WITHOUT COUNTRY, climbed all the way to number 1 in the DAC.

Another highlight in 2021: SEA OF SIN produced a remix for ANNE CLARK’s song ‘Sometimes’, which was released on the album ‘Synaesthesia - Classics reworked’ and as the lead single, alongside remixes by renowned producers such as SOLOMUN, BLANK & JONES, and MARC ROMBOY.

In 2022, new singles and remixes followed. The lead single ‘Synchronize’ reached number 1 in DAC. In total, five new songs were released during this phase. Once again, internationally renowned artists such as ZOOT WOMAN, THE KVB, THE NEW DIVISION, ASHBURY HEIGHTS, and ZYNIC contributed remixes. In March 2023, the entire creative output was released as the album ‘Tired of Chasing Ghosts.’

Afterwards, the duo focused on igniting their live presence on stage. Numerous concerts followed, sharing the stage with great artists including COVENANT, DIORAMA, PSYCHE, and TORUL - a particular highlight was the German tour as special guests of DIARY OF DREAMS in 10 German cities in March 2023.

From autumn 2024, Frank and Klaus began shifting their focus back to new music. Out of countless demo songs, the top 8 tracks were selected and the pre-production process in the studio began. In spring 2025, vocal and guitar recordings took place at a studio in Stuttgart. By the end of May, Klaus had produced and mixed the first four new songs and singles, all set for release in 2025.

The first of these is the up-tempo track ‘Faith!’ which will be released on July 24th! The song presents SEA OF SIN in a new light and serves as a harbinger for the upcoming singles. The new tracks are dynamic up-tempo numbers, characterized by more edges and an even more refined production - at times drawing from genres and bands beyond traditional Synthpop. Altogether, it’s a logical and organic evolution that was already hinted at with the last album.

Musically and lyrically, the duo appears more mature and darker than before - focusing on the prevailing themes and events of the present, which constantly challenge and sometimes burden us, as well as the resulting emotions and everyday anxieties - a reflection of what has happened in the world in recent years and is currently intensifying.

One thing remains unchanged: Despite all the melancholy, SEA OF SIN continue to stand for catchy melodies - now even more danceable ! And there’s still a touch of optimism... Never lose your FAITH!
