STEVE VAI is one of the prominent contemporary rock guitarists, a guitar "god" as my friend regards him. The show in Helsinki put an end on his two-year-long tour in support for 2012 album ‘The Story Of Light’.
Once I went to some other well-known American guitarist show, and to be honest, I was quite bored. But coming to Vai's performance, I was pretty much sure that will not be the case. The music of Steve is vivid, interesting and of course, extremely elaborated. He stays always in the focus of light, while supporting band is lurking into thick smoke that Nosturi guys overdid a bit. But what I liked about his gig is some kind of honesty and sincerity. Sometimes, when big stars come to put up a show, it looks artificial and rehearsed. Here it was just the opposite. Steve is not only a great guitarist but everyone who has visited his show can vouch to his very prominent showman skills. All concert was full of good amount goofing around and atmosphere was pretty much light-hearted. What Steve does, he does with great sincerity.
