Together with ANY WINEHOUSE he landed one of the mega hits of the year 2008, no one got around ‘Valerie’ this year. The single from the current RONSON album ‘Versions’ reached a Top 3 single chart placement in Germany and was in the upper regions of the charts worldwide (Top 5 in UK, Austria & Switzerland). Even on the radio the song is on heavy rotation. ‘Valerie’ stayed in the top positions of the airplay charts for weeks and peaked at number 3. Now it’s time for his new single: ‘Stop me’ feat. Daniel Merrywheather gets released on 15th August 2008.

‘Stop me’ is the RONSON variation of the SMITHS anthem ‘Stop Me If You’ve Heard This One Before.’ ( mixed with ‘You Keep Me Hanging On’ by THE SUPREMES), on the vocals Daniel Merrywheather, who sounds like Otis Reding on E, while he’s jamming with Johnny Marr and the Bar-Keys. Daniel’s solo album will soon be released on Mark Ronson’s own label Allido Records; he’s operating together with Rich Kleinmann. ‘Blue Collar’, the debut of Grammy winner RHYMEFEST was released there as well. Besides that Mark Ronson is also the face of the current campaign of the fashion label DKNY. He also cut a dash as DJ, as he played a 45 minute set at a private VIP birthday party. According to rumours, the lucky millionaire’s daughter had to pay 1 Mio pounds - for a 45 minute DJ set

There’s much more to say about MARK RONSON, the British star producer, residing in New York City, he not only produced big parts of the AMY WINEHOUSE album ‘Back In Black’, he just was in the studio with the KAISER CHIEFS to create the typical MARK RONSON sound for tracks from their new album. He’s one of the most famous DJ’s on the planet, an opinion leader of the fashion scene, loved by the Hip-Hop elite and the In-Crowds at the clubs alike. In the Anglophone-speaking area, he’s called “The Super-Producer”; he’s solo artist, band chief, label head and beloved father of a wonderful border-collie female named Maude, much more than fits intro a usual Jet-Set life, where a day has only 24 hours as well.
