Felsenburg Festival 2022 with Saltatio Mortis, Feuerschwanz, Knasterbart, Fuchsteufelswild
The first Felsenburg festival in 2019 attracted an audience of over 3,500 people to Bad Segeberg. Now, after a two-year pandemic-related break, the usually known wild west area will once again be transformed into a medieval festival ground. The second Felsenburg Festival comes up with an amazing line up, including SALTATIO MORTIS, FEUERSCHWANZ, KNASTERBART and FUCHSTEUFELSWILD.
The main act will be the rapidly rising band SALTATIO MORTIS which has become an established force among German rock bands. The breath-taking success of their music can be explained by the constant change and advancement of their music and texts. They left their roots, developed their own style and content. Whereas the clubs of the republic used to be their home, they now play in concert halls that are almost completely sold out. Between bagpipes and punk, past and modern, the likeable band has found the perfect way to say “let the games begin”. And anyone who has experienced SALTATIO MORTIS live knows that these games never end.
The band FEUERSCHWANZ is also part of the party. FEUERSCHWANZ combines enigmatic satire with boozy humour like no other. The band has gotten more and more popular in their 15 years of band history. With ‘Methämmer’, FEUERSCHWANZ bowed to the metal heroes of the 80s until today and gave the somewhat dusty genre of medieval rock a new coat of paint.
The septet KNASTERBART provides virtuoso folk arrangements and a good portion of punk rock attitude. The folk-rock combo has recently proved that they are also able to fill halls with their own concerts. While in their musical environment people like to sing of great heroic deeds in shining armour, the seven band members of KNASTERBART proudly display their tooth gaps, patchwork smocks and drunken tines and catapult their audience with their stories into the gutters and dimmest dives of human history.
Also performing will be FUCHSTEUFELSWILD. In their songs, FUCHSTEUFELSWILD tell old and new stories. With their new album ‘König Zeiger’, however, the stories have become darker. The band counters the sharp headwind blowing against values like freedom and tolerance with hard, direct words and a punky rock sound, without losing their melodic character. Their path began in 2014, as the band was founded by singer Basti Brenner (formerly also part of SALTATIO MORTIS & FEUERSCHWANZ). FUCHSTEUFELSWILD has made a name for itself in a very short time and today it is hard to imagine the scene without it.
